Since Christmas, the music department has been hard at work preparing for a full season of performances and festivals. Students jumped right into rehearsals in January, polishing music for the winter concert on February 19, as well as for the upcoming solo and ensemble festival and the large ensemble festival later this spring. Mr. Paul Rust has dedicated more than three decades to teaching and coaching at Berean Academy. For 30 years, he has taught high school history and American government, while also serving as the junior high boys’ basketball coach and assisting with high school track and field.

In January, Berean Academy hosted the 59th Annual Eli J. Walter Basketball Tournament, Kansas’s longest-running girls’ basketball tournament. For the second year in a row, the boys also competed in the Eli J. Walter Tournament. The Praise & Celebration Banquet is Berean Academy’s primary fundraiser held annually. The fall quarter officially ended on October 17, but there has been no slowdown in activities at Berean Academy. Between scholars’ bowl competitions, robotics, volleyball, soccer, and cross country, it's been a busy season.

We have officially launched our new student-led podcast series titled “Inside the Academy”. This series was created as part of our new Service Group concept, where students spend 30 minutes every other Tuesday working on projects in service to Berean and the community

We had another wonderful time together at East Lake this year!  One huge difference was that we had the 6th graders joining in, and they did a fantastic job of integrating into the junior high. The 2025-26 school year is underway, and with it, we begin celebrating the school’s 80th year!  Over the last eight decades, God has kept His hand on Berean Academy, nurturing it from its founding in 1946 with an enrollment of fifteen high school students and two buildings purchased at an auction in Oil Hill, to its current state with an enrollment of 331 students in grades K-12, with two gymnasiums, a cafeteria, an office building, 40 classrooms, a library and an industrial

Our Spiritual Emphasis Week touched the hearts of many students as they were challenged to consider what it means to be the image bearers of God.

Some of the highlights for me this year have been the quality of the fine arts programs, the High School Commencement, and the Praise & Celebration Banquet. All three reflect the school’s core values and mission statement very well.

On Saturday, May 17, Berean Academy gained a new set of alumni! The class of 2025 is now added to the funny pages, and their time at Berean has come to an end.
