Christian Action

The Berean Academy Christian Action Committee is elected from the high school student body and serves high school students. Funds raised from Christian Action events goes to support students going on summer missions trips.

 

The purpose of Christian Action:

• To encourage each student to continually grow closer to Jesus Christ in his or her personal life.

• To promote unity in the student body as brothers and sisters in Christ.

• To provide each student opportunities to put his or her faith into practice by serving the Lord in some area of outreach.

• To support Berean students who are involved in summer missions projects.

• Students serve at Presbyterian Manor, Newton, KS

Student Council

​

The primary purpose of the Berean Academy Student Council is to promote leadership development in our students. The distinctive characteristic of Christ-like leadership is that of service. As Jesus came “not to be ministered unto but to minister to others,” so our students learn that a leader is effective only as the needs of others are considered.

 

Our Student Council consists of an executive committee and representatives from each student organization and class. This student government organization plans activities and projects to promote student body interaction and social development.

 

The initial activity of the school year is the ice-breaker event which is planned in conjunction with Christian Action. A special chapel service and many recreational activities make this a full day event. Student Council also plans social events such as the Winter Formal and Homecoming. “Fifth-Quarter” activities provide social opportunities for the winter sports season.

National Honor Society (NHS)

​

National Honor Society (NHS) is a national organization designed to recognize and honor high school students based on the qualities of character, leadership, service, and scholarship. Juniors and seniors are nominated for membership after the first semester on the school term. A faculty panel evaluates each nominee based on the three qualities listed above and a 3.3 cumulative GPA.

Student Ambassadors

​

Berean Academy Ambassadors are high school students who consistently look for ways to carry out the mission of Berean Academy. They exhibit integrity and a strong Godly character both at Berean and in their lives outside of school. Ambassadors work to help new students and families feel comfortable, connected, and a part of the Berean family. 

 

Ambassadors attend training sessions throughout the school year learning leadership skills such as hospitality and first impression techniques, skills that will be valuable beyond high school. Ambassadors use this training to serve others throughout the school year by helping with new and prospective family events such as kindergarten preview, campus visits, and campus tours.

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy™

​

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy™ is a national high school leadership program focused on impact through action. Berean Academy has been sponsored by a local Chick-fil-A in Wichita to be one of 800 Chick-fil-A Leader Academy™ locations across the nation and is currently the only participating Christian school in the state of Kansas. The web-based, video-driven curriculum teaches participants seven principles of servant leadership. Theses lessons delivered over seven months with small action projects culminating in a student led, student run, large impact project.
