To start the new school year, we had our annual junior high retreat on Friday, August 19. We began the day with a delicious breakfast provided by STUCO and spent some time interacting with the high schoolers. Next, the junior high students and some staff headed to East Lake Park! We began our time with the Lord with Mr. Kenny Davis and some 8th-grade young men leading us in singing. Then Dr. Joel Smith led our devotional time. He spoke about the importance of using our words for the Lord to lift up others. It was a great topic for all of us to hear.
Mrs. Cheri Busenitz led the rest of the day in team-building games, which we all loved. Pizza and pop for lunch were exciting and much enjoyed in the air-conditioned Volunteer Hall. Overall the day was a huge success! The staff had many great opportunities to build relationships with the students, and the new and returning students had a great time getting to know each other. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this day a positive experience for our Berean junior high students.
