The longer I serve in Christian education, the faster each passing year seems to go. While this year was my first year at Berean Academy, it was my 42nd year in education and 38th year in Christian school education overall. I can honestly say that this year has been one of the best of my previous years in education, both as a teacher and administrator. My wife and I have genuinely enjoyed and felt welcomed by the Berean community at large. This is a solid Christian school environment where the partnership between the home, church, and school is very strong.
Some of the highlights for me this year have been the quality of the fine arts programs, the High School Commencement, and the Praise & Celebration Banquet. All three reflect the school’s core values and mission statement very well. Our school’s partnership with the home and local church was on full display this school year, especially with the three events and programs mentioned above.
Berean Academy has a rich history spanning nearly eight decades, but I believe its best years are still to come. God isn’t finished with what He started back in 1946, when this school was birthed by visionary men and women of faith. May it continue to make disciples for Christ and His glory, until He returns.
Shepherding His lambs,
David Funk
Head of School
