Quick Minds, Strong Finish: Highlights from the Scholars Bowl Season

This was Dr. Noreen Templin's first year serving as the high school Scholars Bowl coach, and it was a rewarding season from start to finish. Our program included two teams: six freshmen and sophomores competing at the junior varsity level, and six juniors and seniors representing Berean on the varsity team.

Scholars Bowl is a unique and challenging academic competition, with questions drawn from a wide range of subjects. It often comes down to quick thinking and broad knowledge, and our students rose to the challenge time and time again. They answered countless questions with confidence and demonstrated the strength of Berean’s academic foundation.

The varsity team had an especially impressive season. They earned several third‑place finishes, multiple second‑place awards, and captured first place at the Nickerson meet, competing against 24 schools—many of them larger than ours. Their championship win included a victory over Maize South in the final round, with our team winning the last question.

Dr. Templin was incredibly proud of all our students and is excited to see many of them return next year. She looks forward to welcoming new team members and cheering on our seniors as they continue their academic journeys.
