2025 Fall Sports Review

Berean Academy student-athletes represented Christ and Berean well during the fall sports season. Secondary students competed in three different sports (cross country, soccer, and volleyball).
The high school competitive highlights from the fall are many! Both the Berean Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Teams qualified for the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) 2A Cross Country Meet in Wamego. The boys finished in 12th place, and Will Snook finished 14th as a State medalist. The Berean girls' team won the Heart of America League (HOAL) championship and finished as the State Runner-Up for the second year in a row. Addie Busenitz finished 18th as a State medalist. The Junior High Cross Country Team saw multiple HOAL medalists. Clara Farney finished third in the 7th grade girls’ race, and Emerson Jordan finished fifth in the 7th grade boys’ race. In the 8th grade girls’ race, Eliza Briscoe was the individual champion, and Georgia Wiebe finished third.
High School Soccer finished the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 11-6-1 and was the fourth overall seed in the KSHSAA 4-1A West Region. The team finished as the Regional Runner-Up. Wyatt Friesen, Jace Unruh, Mason Balzer, Nolan Sweazy, Ryley Busenitz, and Tripp Beverlin were all named All-HOAL First-Team, while Isaiah Gilmer, Nehemiah Regier, and Brendan Busenitz were all named All-HOAL Second-Team. The Warrior Junior High soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 8-3-1, capped by a 2nd-place finish at the Berean Soccer Festival.
Warrior High School Volleyball had a tremendous season, finishing with a 30-9 overall record. The team finished third in the HOA League, was a KSHSAA 2A Regional Champion, and ended its season in the KSHSAA 2A Sub-State, losing to the eventual State Runner-Up. Fionna Morgan and Adrienne Mullins were both named All-HOAL Second Team, while Shylin Timkin was named All-HOAL Honorable Mention. Berean’s Junior High Volleyball Team finished the season with a record of 9-10, making a strong postseason run. At the HOAL Tournament, Berean finished fourth overall out of the 12-team League.
