During winter break, as our Secondary Principal, Jason Wine, was refinishing a gym floor at another Christian school, he got to talking to the school’s principal, who made this comment to him: “Berean has an amazing legacy of alumni involvement. You have alumni support that spans three or more generations. We just don't have that, but that is something that we are trying to build at our school.” Mr. Wine knew that Berean had exceptional support, but he did not know that other schools in our league knew how blessed Berean is by her alumni. One annual demonstration of our invaluable alumni support is our homecoming evening, which was held on Friday, January 30, 2026. The voting for homecoming candidates happens in three rounds, with the first round consisting of all senior high class officers and organizational officers voting to narrow the candidates to seven boys and seven girls. The second round is completed by all sophomore, junior, and senior students, which reduces the list to the final six. The final vote, which is the senior class and the secondary faculty, is responsible for determining Mr. and Miss Berean. The three ladies this year were Miss Scotlyn Gardiner, Miss Adrienne Mullins, and Miss Shylin Timken. They were escorted by Mr. Dakota Braun, Mr. Emory Kukula, and Mr. Nolan Sweazy, with Emory and Adrienne being crowned Mr. and Miss Berean 2026. Thanks to these six seniors for their representation of the entire student body. And thank you, alumni, for your continued support of the mission and vision of Berean Academy.
