Quick Thinking and Teamwork: JH Quiz Bowl Highlights

This year, both the 7th- and 8th-grade Quiz Bowl teams each had eight members. The teams participated in six meets, including the Heart of America League Meet hosted by Berean Academy. Over the course of the season, they faced more than 860 questions and answered approximately 43% correctly.

Both teams placed at least twice and were close to placing in all meets. At one meet, for example, there was a three-way tie for second place; after all the tiebreaking procedures were completed, the team finished in fourth. In other meets, however, the tiebreakers worked in their favor.

Overall, it was an enjoyable year, and the quizzers especially appreciated the new (smaller) bus used for travel to meets—particularly after their coach learned how to operate the climate control.
