High school students at Berean Academy celebrated homecoming week with spirit days! Disney characters, time travelers, and X-treme Warrior fans filled the hallways with school spirit despite a schedule change and school closures due to record low temperatures.
Students gathered in the gym for our annual homecoming pep rally on Friday morning, February 19. The complete Berean Pep Band, which hasn’t been able to perform as a whole group this year due to COVID restrictions, welcomed students into the gym. Student council led the students in a human surfing competition in which the 7th through 12th grade classes competed against one another. After three rounds of competition, the freshmen were named the human surfing champions and won a free jeans day pass!
Alumni, friends, family, and Warrior fans gathered on Friday evening, February 19, as the Warriors took on McPherson. Although the crowd for the basketball game was limited due to COVID restrictions, the homecoming ceremony was open to all who wanted to attend. The crowning of Mr. and Miss Berean took place after the boys varsity game. Congratulations to Mr. Berean and Miss Berean 2021, Sam Snook and Mackenzie Unruh! Many thanks to Mrs. Sara Meisinger, Mr. Jerry McClenahan, the Berean Student Council, and the Berean Administration who worked hard to make homecoming happen in such an unpredictable year!
