Visual and Industrial Arts

Visual arts have always been a way to express the beauty of God. Kindergarten through 5th grade students attend art class weekly, learning a broad spectrum of art types. The highlight of the elementary art program is the Berean Elementary Art Show, where our art classes display their creations for the community.

Studio art is offered as an elective to junior high and high school students, introducing them to different mediums – painting, sculpting, photography, and drawing to name a few. Students are given the opportunity to express their God-given gifts through class projects displayed throughout our building on a regular basis. Student artwork is also displayed at our music concerts in the fall and spring.

Industrial Arts

Our Industrial Arts/Woodworking elective invites 9-12 grade students to explore craftsmanship through a Christ-centered lens. Rooted in the belief that we as human beings have been created in the image of God, which gives us the ability to create, this course helps students develop practical woodworking and design skills while cultivatin character traits sucha as diligence, patience, stewardship, and integrity.

Students learn to safely and skillfully use tools, read plans, design projects, and bring their ideas to life-all while embracing Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." Each project becomes an opportunity to practice excellence, creativity, and service.

Each year, students also have the exciting opportunity to showcase their work in the HOA League Art Contest, where their craftsmanship stands alongside other talented students across the league.

Through Industrial Arts, students grow not only as makers but as young men and women who reflect Christ in the work of their hands.
