The Berean Academy student organization, Christian Action, will be hosting the Spring Would-Be Games on Friday, March 25. This event is a fundraiser involving the entire high school student body and any Berean family who wants to attend and support student summer missions. The proceeds raised during the evening financially assist students going on summer mission trips and provide the operational budget for Christian Action. If you plan to go on a summer missions trip this summer, please contact Miss Wiebe. There is a form to fill out regarding the details of your trip.
This year the evening will include a basketball and dodgeball tournament for high school students, as well as a knock-out game and a 3-point contest. Would-Be Games provide an opportunity for students currently not involved in athletic competition in basketball—they “would-be” basketball players. All high school boys and girls not on the high school basketball team will be eligible for the basketball tournament, and all high school students are eligible to participate in the dodge ball tournament. The evening begins at 5:00 PM with basketball in both gymnasiums. A meal will be available for purchase starting at 5:30 PM. The meal includes sub sandwiches ($2), Chick-Fil-A sandwich ($5), chips ($1), drinks ($1), and a dessert of either pie, cake, or cookies ($1). A meal deal will also be available, which includes a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, chips, a drink, and one choice of dessert for $7.
The money raised from the fall and spring Would-Be Games is used to purchase supplies for Christian Action events throughout the year, and all of the additional proceeds support Berean students going on summer missions trips. All junior high and high school students going on summer missions trips will be able to request money from Christian Action for their trips.
The entire family is invited to enjoy the Would-Be Games. Admission is $2 for students, $3 for adults, and $7 for families. We look forward to a great evening!
